WHY BUILD ON ONLINE NEWSROOM?

Nowadays, most people get their news online or through Google alerts and other RSS technologies. Having your news posted online is necessary if you want to attract the attention of browsers, bloggers and online journalists.

This online newsroom website was built to support the workshops and webinars we offer on building an online newsrooms. Starting on February 1, 2010 we will also be offering subscribers to Alberta Media Directory Online at www.mediainalberta.ca, the opportunity to post their news releases to this website as well.

Note to Customers & Subscribers If you’re a customer or subscriber, you’re welcome to set up your own newsroom with text, photos and videos on this website after February 1, 2010. We’ll even show you how in a half hour personal online tutorial. See the Get Publishing 2009 Newsroom in the Newsrooms section for an example. It’s easy to do! You can have your news online in 15 minutes. You'll be sent an invitation to post your news releases when this site is ready for you to post your releases.

Why would want to have your news online? Because it is the most effective way to communicate your news if you post your news on an active site that is continually updated, constantly promoted, optimized for search engines and indexed for Google News, as this one is. Try searching for the title any of the news releases already posted on this website and you'll see what we mean.
